Shannon Correspondence Files

Formerly 8 cubic feet; 3 filing cabinet drawers. All items were photocopied correspondence from the Merton Center or other collections. Items that were duplicates of correspondence held by the Merton Center were deaccessioned. Copies of items from other collections or directly from those in correspondence with Merton were incorporated into Record Group 1 by the name of the person in correspondence with Merton and recorded as a copy made by Shannon.

This Records Subgroup contained working notes and pieces of correspondence compiled by William H. Shannon in the publication of some of Merton's correspondence. The correspondence contained mostly duplicates of pieces from the Merton Center's collection (Record Group 1); however, some are copies obtained from other collections or from those who were in correspondence with Merton.
