    History

    Dom Paulinus Lee was the founder of a Trappist monastery on Lantao Island near Hong Kong. Having been born in Peking, he became a entered the Trappist Monastery of Consolation, Yang Kia Ping, in 1919. In 1941, he elected as Titular Prior at Our Lady of Joy, but had to flee Communist oppression and found a new monastery near Hong Kong in the late 1940's.
