Scope and content
This Records Subgroup includes materials related to the Catholic Worker Movement and prominent figures in the movement, including co-founder Dorothy Day and artists for the newspaper, such as Ade Bethune and Fritz Eichenberg. Joseph Zarrella met Dorothy Day in New York and joined the Catholic Worker movement in its early days. Zarrella married Mary Alice Lautner and moved to her home town of Tell City, Indiana, where he established a Catholic Worker House of Hospitality. Dorothy Day visited the Zarrella family after Joseph moved to Indiana.
