The miscellaneous records sub-group contains small collections regularly outside of the Merton Center's collection focus. It currently contains two collections related to Mother Teresa of Calcutta (Saint Teresa of Calcutta), one of which is related to Bellarmine College (now Bellarmine University).

This Sub-Section includes paintings, correspondence, etc. related to the Thomas Merton's father, Owen Merton, and the Merton family.

This Sub-Section includes Merton's handwritten personal diaries and journals, as well as his reading notebooks or working notebooks. His journals have been published in their entirety. Small sections of the notebooks have been quoted in various works, but the notebooks have not on the whole been published. The notebooks range in date from 1946-1968.
